GET TO KNOW THE PHOTOGRAPHER
I love capturing families at all stages - from newly engaged to the birth of the first child and beyond. My favorite images are the ones that happen just after the “pose” – when a child dissolves into precious giggles, an expectant mother tenderly gazes down towards her unborn child, or when the groom whispers lovingly into his bride-to-be’s ear. It’s in those stolen moments where the true emotion and connection lies, and I strive to capture them for you to hold on to forever.
WHAT TO EXPECT –

You can reach out either via my contact form, or by sending me an email. Tell me a little bit about yourself, and your family as well as your due date. I typically respond within 24 hours (usually sooner!) to let you know if I'm available on your date. From there we can schedule a call to chat about your session and answer any questions you have.
Making your newborn session as easy as possible for you is my goal! I bring everything (wraps, backdrops, and outfits for your little one) to you so you don't have to leave the comfort of your home. Many of my clients do the majority of their sessions either in the nursery or master bedroom. Afraid your home isn't "photogenic?" The trick is to declutter the room we'll be shooting in. Simple backgrounds photograph best!
Once we book your session I will send over my extensive Style Guide to help you plan and prep for a pinterest worthy session! Make sure to keep comfort in mind when picking your outfit. I have a variety of wraps and outfits for your little one. My color palette is very neutral with lots of creams, grays, and tans. I am also more than happy to incorporate any heirloom items or special outfits into your session!
On the date of your session, my goal is for you to be as relaxed as possible! I'll arrive at your home and take a few minutes to get to know you and look at the rooms you are hoping to photograph in. If your newborn is fast asleep I'll start with portraits of the baby alone. If Baby is wide awake we will start with some family images. Please take your time on session day! If Baby needs a break for feeding, changing or snuggles, take it!
It takes about 2-3 weeks for me to edit and deliver your gallery. Your images will be in an online, password protected gallery. You are able to share with friends and family, and download your images as many times as you'd like! I HIGHLY recommend downloading your images and backing them up to at least 2 separate locations.
Pre-session consultation by phone or skype, wardrobe style guide, session done at the location of your choice (within a 25 mile radius), online gallery of your images, and print rights.
Pre-session consultation by phone or skype, wardrobe style guide, session done at your home, full use of props and wraps, online gallery of your images, and print rights.
These sessions are done ideally around 32 weeks and are a beautiful way to capture the love you and your partner have for each other and for this new life you have created.
Let me bring the studio to you to document your sweet baby's first days. Using safe, natural posing, you can be sure that your little one is in good hands and that you will get some gorgeous images to remember just how tiny they were!

Planning your outfits for a pinterest worthy session
WHAT TO WEAR
When choosing colors for your outfits, I recommend selecting softer, lighter tones and more muted shades. The camera loves shades of soft pink and muted blues, mixed with sophisticated light neutrals like heather gray, creams, leather brown and white. That softer color palette fits beautifully into almost all homes.
For the Littles
If you have multiple children, don’t feel like you need to put them all in the same type of outfit. For example, one of your daughters could wear a dress and flats, while the other wears a skirt and boots. Mixing up the wardrobe pieces will bring a great visual interest to the photos.
I've put together a few different Pinterest boards with inspiration for your session. Whether you're hoping to have a casual beach session, an at home session, or a more formal session, there should be plenty to inspire you!
HOW MANY IMAGES DO WE RECEIVE?
I curate a gallery full of the best images from your session. I remove any duplicates or images where someone blinked or moved and you get the rest! On average for a newborn I deliver 40-65 images. I truly believe that you should be able to have all of your memories - they don't do anyone any good sitting on my computer!
How old should the baby be for the session?
Many of my clients are looking for those sweet, sleepy images of their new baby. The best age for these types of images is between 5-10 days. If you are looking for more of a family lifestyle session where your baby is awake and alert, between 4-6 weeks is the best age!
I'd love to schedule a call with you to hear more about what you envision for your session. We can chat everything from wardrobe, to locations, to any concerns you may have about being in front of the camera. I want you walking into your session confident, relaxed, and ready to make some memories!
